The internationally acclaimed artist Frank Krüger has lived in Mallorca since 1997 — after the success of his galleries in Cala Ratjada, Palma de Mallorca, and Berlin, art lovers can look forward to the opening of his Galeria Frank Krüger in Port d’Andratx on 19 May 2018.
"With this new gallery, we also want to cover the western part of the island, expand our clientele, and make the name Frank Krüger better known," says the Berlin-born artist. His famous bull paintings adorn homes and public spaces around the world, but art connoisseurs are also impressed by his surrealist motifs and PopArt creations on polished metal. "I am forever enjoying experiments with different techniques and materials, hence there are works of mine in oil on gold leaf, silver leaf, copper, and canvas as well as paintings in a special 3D technique with indirect lighting,” explains the artist who has chosen to make Mallorca his home together with daughter Lara and his wife, the artist Laura Hahne-Krüger. His works have experienced a significant increase in value in recent years, and demand has risen sharply. "With my own galleries I am independent of gallery owners, I can control everything myself, because I don't like being dependent on others — with our galleries we can put our own mark on everything and design things the way we think is right," says the artist. The surroundings were decisive for the choice of location of the new Galeria Frank Krüger — as with the other galleries, it is dominated by large viewing windows. The well-known bull pictures will of course also be on display in Port d´Andratx, therefore there will be decidedly fewer art prints while still providing very different types of art. "I'm trying to spread and distribute everything a little," explains Frank Krüger. The new Galeria in Port d´Andratx will also be showcasing work by other artists: Salvador Llinàs Clar (Spain) and Ed Heck (New York) will be represented here, as well as the wire mesh sculptures by Peter Robinson Smith (New York). "A really interesting mixture," Frank Krüger is happy to announce. The new Galeria is located directly at the entrance to the village (Carrer des saluet 2), making it easy to find. A private car park is available for visitors. "All those interested in art are invited to the opening of the Galeria Frank Krüger in Port d`Andratx on 19 May from 5 pm to 9 pm, not only to be enchanted by my paintings, but also to enjoy Matthias Gerlach's culinary delights and music by Mikel Molina from Barcelona," emphasises Frank Krüger.
