Due to its modern and bright design, ideal location and high-end equipment, Galeria Frank Krüger has become one of Mallorca’s most in-demand locations amongst artists. “We offer art ranging in prices from 100 to 10,000 Euro. By doing this, we attract a younger demographic and make it less intimidating for people to come and explore. The combined effect of all these factors leads to an increasing number of artists approaching us to display their work here”, says Frank Krüger, a Majorcan by choice who himself is a successful artist originating from Berlin. Together with his creative wife, the Berlin designer Laura Hahne, he runs the gallery. The Belgian Swa van Dael has frequently exhibited his work throughout Europe but will be exhibiting for the first time in Spain with his opening at Galleria Frank Krüger. Frank Krüger elaborates, “As soon as he showed us his photos, we were captivated. We knew instantly that his large and extremely colourful pieces, with their high chromatic intensity, would fit wonderfully at Galeria Frank Krüger. There is so much to discover in his pieces. Through his personal style with ties to surrealism, van Dael’s passions and visions of our existence are revealed, far beyond what could be expressed with words”. Swa van Dael’s pieces depict plants, animals and people flowing into new forms, appearing to be communicating with each other in joyful unison. Upon closer inspection, one can identify critical references to relevant contemporary topics.
The opening exhibition on 10 June 2016 from 6pm to 9pm will be the first time that Galleria Frank Krüger welcomes a “foreign” artist, and we warmly invite all who are interested. Frank Krüger highlights, “We are already very excited and looking forward to an evening with Swa van Dael, his wife and a large audience”.
Henceforth, new artists will be introduced several times each year at Galeria Frank Krüger on Costa Brossa 3 in Palma.
