Award-winner Consumption rates of water, detergent products and energy are among the most important cost factors for commercial dishwashers. For sixty years Winterhalter has provided the complete warewash system solution and has been thinking 'outside the box' to reduce costs, in the interest of customers.
The latest developments are the energy-saving GS 500 Energy and GS 500 Energy+ models, featuring exhaust air and wastewater heat recovery. Following the "Grand Prix de l’Innovation“ catégorie Grand Matériel (First Prize for Innovation in the professional kitchen equipment category) at the Sirha trade fair in Lyon, the Energy Series' outstanding features won the honorary award at this year's FCSI (Foodservice Consultants Society International) Conference in Prague.
How it works:
In conventional machines steam escapes every time they are opened for unloading. GS 502 and GS 515 Energy Series pass through dishwashers convert this steam into energy. The steam is extracted from the interior during the dishwashing process, while the hood is closed. Its energy is then used to heat the cold water feed, with the aid of an exhaust air heat exchanger.
The GS 502 Energy+ and GS 515 Energy+ are equipped with a second heat exchanger which uses the energy in the wastewater to heat the cold water feed as well. This 'intelligent resource technology' (IRT) enables the GS 500 Energy models to save up to Euro 5,250, extrapolated over a period of eight years. Over the same period the GS 502 Energy+ and GS 515 Energy+ models can save up to Euro 7,000. The Energy and Energy+ models also improve working conditions in the warewash area, since they produce virtually no waste steam.
In addition to the energy recovery systems, the Energy and Energy+ dishwashers have an optimised rinsing system. According to the on-site conditions Winterhalter rack pass through machines reduce their rinse volume to only 2.4 litres per cycle and have up to now the lowest rinse water consumption made in Germany!
Nearly Thirty Full Tanks of Petrol per Year The new GS 502 Energy+, with its optimised rinsing and energy recovery systems, delivers annual savings of around Euro 1,868 in operating costs compared to a GS 502 built before March 2007. To put it another way, the GS 502 Energy+ enables restaurateurs, hoteliers and caterers to fill up the petrol tanks in their cars roughly thirty times a year "free of charge", with the money saved on dishwashing.
