Major highlights at AUTUMN 2007
Partner Country at the ITF is Germany – the county during whose presidency Bulgaria joined the EU. ITF will outline new prospects for the business relations between the two countries.
For the first time, the ITF will also have a Partner Region. The participation of the Greater Region, situated in the historic heart of the European Union, and presenting an example of successful cross-border cooperation, will open up new opportunities for cooperation between Bulgarian and European companies.
Increased interest on behalf of the embassies of the EU member states and the Representation of the European Commission in Sofia, the initiators and organizers of large-scale events of the ITF Business Events Programme.
Forum focused on the mechanisms for utilization of the EU funds as a guarantee for the fast integration of Bulgaria into the EU – presentation of models for public private partnership, foreign experience in the implementation of projects and cooperation opportunities with Bulgarian companies.
Leading Bulgarian and foreign companies show innovations and high technologies.
Investment of BGN 6 million for the construction of new exhibition areas and improvement of the Fairground’s exterior.
“The large-scale display of the world economy to be seen at AUTUMN 2007 is also resulting from our efforts to further develop our international contacts. They will help the Bulgarian business to successfully adapt to the new environment in the European Union and take full advantage of the opportunities provided”, commented the Executive Director of International Fair Plovdiv, Georgi Gergov.
The International Technical Fair, which is the largest trade fair event in Bulgaria and one of the most representative business forums in Europe, increases in size and attendance every year. The 63rd edition of ITF is also marking a growth.
3,661 exhibitors from 49 countries have applied for participation. The number of the Bulgarian companies totals 1,336. The foreign companies are 2,325 (6% up compared to last year), and the total number of exhibitors shows an increase of 3 % over AUTUMN 2006. The total exhibition area registers a rise of 9 %, while the area occupied by the foreign exhibitors is up by 17%.
The participants are from Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belarus, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Chinese Taipei, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, India, Iran, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Moldova, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Republic of Korea, Romania, Russian Federation, Scotland, Serbia, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey, Ukraine, USA.
The greatest number of exhibitors is registered by Germany (583) followed by Italy (448), Turkey (154), Czech Republic (109), the USA (107), France (80), Austria (76). The largest exhibition areas are occupied by companies from Turkey, Germany, Italy, Czech Republic, Belgium, Poland, Austria, Switzerland, Hungary, Greece.
New participants in the ITF 2007 are India, Iran, South Africa and Thailand.
Official participations are registered by 11 countries: Austria, Chinese Taipei, Czech Republic, France, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Poland, South Africa, Turkey.
The number of collective participations is five - from Belgium, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia. Ten international exhibitions are organized within the framework of the Autumn Fair 2007: AQUATECH – Water Management and Technologies; AUTOTECH – Transport and Auto Service Equipment; ELTECH – Electronic and Electrical Engineering; ENECO – Power Engineering and Ecology; INFOTECH –Information Technologies; PC WORLD Bulgaria – Software Exhibition; MACHINE BUILDING; STROYTECH – Construction and Architecture; CHEMICAL INDUSTRY; MOTOR SHOW PLOVDIV. The most impressive exhibitions are MACHINE BUILDING, STROYTECH, MOTOR SHOW PLOVDIV, ELTECH and AUTOTECH.
On display at the ITF are also companies and organizations active in the following sectors: publishing and advertising, R & D, education and training, transportation and forwarding, expertise and control, marketing and consulting, patents, licenses, know-how, banking and insurance, etc.
To respond to the great interest in AUTUMN 2007 and create a better working environment for exhibitors and visitors, renovation works were carried out for two months to improve the exterior of the venue and to construct additional exhibition areas of 12,000 sq. m. For the first time in years, all the exhibition pavilions will be available.
“We seek to create a new European vision of the Fairground”, declared Georgi Gergov, the Executive Director of International Fair Plovdiv, who promised at the beginning of May that the company would do its best to confirm the applications of the companies willing to participate in the Autumn Fair.
