Compared to the previous year Zell am See and Kaprun recorded a nineper- cent increase. It was not least Kaprun that contributed a great deal to this pleasant result. 'Earlier this year, we had splendid weather with lots of sun in addition to absolutely perfect conditions on the ski runs. On top of that, the region's great events such as the Night of the Balloons, the opening ceremony of the Volvo Ice Camp and the Snowboard Nights attract holidaymakers', says managing director Mag. Renate Ecker.
It goes without saying that in spring diversified events will guarantee fun and entertainment in Pinzgau again, too. During the greatest European 'Nostalgic Ski Race' on 5th March participants are riding down the slopes of Schmittenhöhe wearing traditional costumes and antique skis. From 23rd to 27th February the world's best skiers and snowboarders are meeting to compete against each other at the most important freeski event in Austria: the 'Austrian Freeski Open'. The competitions take place at the 'Kitzsteinhorn Parks'.
From 26th March to 2nd April the legendary 'Sun, Snow & Party Week' is bringing Amadeus Music Award winner Anna F. to the region. The Firn & Fun Happening from 29th April to 1st May heralds the start of spring on the glacier offering three days of action including a gratis test of the latest ski models of 2012, the Pipe Contest, a glacier disco, après-ski events and a lot more.
