In the sustainability compendium "Tree of Hope" young people report on their actions for a better world. 80 recognized experts such as Prof. Dr. Schellnhuber, Dr. Auma Obama and Prof. Dr. Weizsäcker illuminate the current discourse on climate policy.
Pupils and students are developing ideas for sustainable water use, installing solar systems or initiating a project to avoid plastic bags.
Tasks are formulated in each chapter and useful questions are asked and tried-and-tested implementation steps are explained as a continuous column »Knowledge – Understand – Act«.

THE "TREE OF HOPE" A CALL TO ACTION
The “Tree of Hope” signals both traction and optimism, determination, creativity and a sense of responsibility for future generations.
It is a symbol of rethinking, of environmental and social change and global social justice towards sustainable lifestyles for all people worldwide. the tree was not simply an object of protest.
It was a special meeting place, a place of community and dialogue. People from different cultures, religions and nationalities come together at the “Tree of Hope” and cover the tree’s leaves with their IDEAS, PROJECTS AND DREAMS.

Youthinkgreen was a pivotal moment in Sharm El Sheik. The unifying symbols: The tree of hope and the green thread were the ultimate tools to gather the global youth together. We end up bringin this symbols, from COY17 to the blue zone inside COP27. Later on we got the chance to atend a meeting with Antonio Guterres. I can not imagine such an experience withouth YTG and the "Weltjugend - Nachaltigkeitschule" in my life.

THE “GREEN THREAD“
When the Rio+20 UN Sustainable Development Conference ended, the German Environment Minister Peter Altmaier mentioned youthinkgreen and the “Green Thread” in his closing speech to delegates from around the world:
“When the Conference began I met with students from different countries working together on the youthinkgreen initiative. They tied this green bracelet around my wrist. This bracelet is meant to remind us all that, as active politicians, we bear responsibility for the fate of future generations."
