- ATP test centre Papenburg, April 2008
Graduate engineer Jan Fatthauer, creator and also test pilot of the 9ff proprietary development GT9, accelerates and speeds up from the full banked corner on the Papenburg oval course. Accompanied by a sound spectacle of automobile top class, the 964 Newton metres torque push down on the asphalt and vehemently thrust the car forward. At the end of the four kilometre long straight, the display of the satellite-supported time measurement shows an incredible 409 km/h. With such a result, the 9ff GT9 does not only becomes a member in the elitist 400km/h-Club, no, it even takes the first place and also breaks the new Vmax world record for road-going vehicles.
The source of power
Even as impressive as the maximum speed are the acceleration values of the rear-wheel driven car. It accelerates to 100 km/h in only 3.4 seconds, to 200km/h in only 8.2 seconds and the digital display of the instrument panel shows the 300 km/h in unbelievable 16.4 seconds. The source of power for this overwhelming power is a modified motor from the Porsche 996 Turbo. The water-cooled 6-cylinder horizontally opposed engine with 4 litres cubic capacity and dry sump is equipped with two exhaust twin turbo chargers, titanium connecting rods, forged pistons and a 24 carat hard gold plated induction plate. Thereby, the high-tech aggregate achieves sensational 987 PS / 726 kW at 7,850 r.p.m. The maximum torque of 964 Nm is reached at 5,970 r.p.m.
Custom-made drive technology
9ff offers an alternative to the stationary rear 6-speed transmission, a sequential race transmission. For both models, the transmissions are assembled according to the customer preference.
Guarantee for driving pleasure, comfort and safety
Of course, when developing the 9ff GT9, we put the highest emphasis on driving dynamics and safety. The chassis was equipped with state of the art technology components from motor sports. Electronically adjustable aluminium shock absorbers in connection with double springs at the McPherson front axle and horizontal push-rods at the 5-steering rear axle guarantee an ideal road grip. 9ff uses tyres by its technology partner Continental which ensure a perfect grip and traction. Selected Continental Vmax tyres in connection with ultra-light three-part forged wheels are approved up to a speed of 410 km/h and are therefore perfect for the requirements of such a high-speed car. 9ff uses the wheel-tyre combination with the dimensions 8.5 x 19 with 235/ZR 19 at the front and 11.5 x 19 with 325/30 ZR 19 at the back.
An opulently dimensioned sport brake system provides excellent deceleration values. Ceramic brake discs measuring 380 mm (front) and 350 mm (back) are sandwiched by the front 6- and rear 4-piston system. Special brake pads and an individually engineered race-ABS complete the system.
A breathtaking styling is the result of design and function
A perfect surface quality and a custom-made finish are the hallmarks of the lift-reducing GT9 car design. No dazzler, but a conclusive concept full of technical finesse and dressed in a breathtaking silhouette. For maximum crash safety, 9ff combines the Porsche GT3 front vehicle with a tubular steel-grid and developed a chassis made of very strong carbon- and Kevlar fibre. The compact under-body casing with its integrated rear diffuser generates additional output and renders stability at high speeds. The main feature of the 9ff GT9 is its low height of only 1,180 mm which underlines the striking racy impression. Moreover, its small frontal area is an important criterion for reaching speeds over 400 km/h.
Engineered design without limits
What ever makes your heart beats faster, we have it. Embroidered car mats, full-leather interior, everything produced with skilled craftsmanship. Whether you like it noble or sportive - 9ff offers has everything for any taste.
The 9ff Fahrzeugtechnik GmbH produces a limited edition of 20 GT9 cars at the company location in Dortmund. The super race car by this specialist manufacturer for tuned Porsche cars is offered from 498,000 euros.
