10 years of QLOCKTWO®- a reason to celebrate. It all started with a simple but ingenious idea. "Thought through a hundred times, forgotten again, taken out again, drawings made, put away again", says Marco Biegert. He and his business partner Andreas Funk initially ran an advertising agency. Both are among the creative minds for whom borders are not obstacles, that want to make the impossible possible, to move off the beaten track. So it is hardly surprising that their advertising agency has become a flourishing enterprise. But the idea of an alternative time display always remained in their minds. The basis of the first clock was a white painted wooden plate and the electronics were still soldered by hand. Covered by a square acrylic glass with 110 seemingly randomly arranged letters, illuminated from behind by illuminated surfaces, the time is described in five-minute steps. "It is five to twelve", or "It is seven o'clock". "We actually made the w atch for ourselves, we didn't intend to create a commercial product," says Andreas Funk.
Encouraged by friends, Biegert and Funk decided to present the watch at national and international design fairs. The success was overwhelming and so in 2009 the decision was made to turn the prototype into a series product. Within a very short time a complete production line was installed, a sales department was set up and the company was geared to the new requirements.
QLOCKTWO®is available in different materials. Whether in coloured acrylic glass, powder-coated stainless steel or the artfully designed surfaces of the CREATOR'S EDITION, QLOCKTWO®is far more than just a watch. It is wall and art object at the same time.
Meanwhile there are 5 model lines of QLOCKTWO®: CLASSIC, LARGE, 180, TOUCH and W. From all lines QLOCKTWO®models were honoured with national and international renowned design awards, some models even several times. Most recently the QLOCKTWO®180 CREATOR'S EDITION RUST has been awarded with the ICONIC AWARDS 2019: Innovative Interior.
