Dave Senay
President, CEO
Fleishman-Hillard International Communications
USA
During his 30-year career in public relations, Dave Senay has worked across multiple communications practices throughout several regions of the world, and been a driving force in the growth and development of the world's leading communications firm.
Senay, 55, joined Fleishman-Hillard's St. Louis headquarters staff in 1984 as an account executive focused on consumer marketing. In the 27 years since, he has taken on increasing responsibilities, serving at various times as a group leader; as general manager of the St. Louis headquarters office; as regional president for the Midwest, for Canada, and for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. He also has played a key role in the firm's long-term planning process. He became president and chief executive officer of the firm in July 2006, the third in its 65-year history.
Senay has participated on or led global account teams for major Fleishman-Hillard clients in industries ranging from telecommunications, biotechnology, and information technology to food, healthcare and automotive. He has broad experience in corporate and crisis communications along with consumer marketing, international, public affairs and environmental programs. Over the years, his account teams have won numerous industry awards for program excellence.
In his role as CEO, Senay is transforming the agency to respond to major trends such as the convergence of social media with traditional communication channels; the need to integrate communications across paid, earned, shared and owned media; and the growing globalization of client communications needs. His first initiative was to "switch on" the agency by fully infusing social media into the agency's approach to communications, and today, Fleishman-Hillard is widely heralded for its leadership in this growing field.
Senay is an ardent "internationalist". In 2008, he completed two 30-day commitments to the Asia and European regions, symbolically "moving" the agency headquarters to these key regions to underscore the agency's commitment to the global panorama of communications.
