The new Lennon Bus Europe placed a special challenge to produce the perfect environment for students and professionals alike. Interiors were created in close cooperation with Lennon Bus Chief Engineer and Sony Professional Solutions Europe.
The interior can be enlarged by a sideways pop-out and is divided into three separate studio environments. They feature switchable glass doors that change from clear to opaque for privacy and sound reduction. The front studio is a cutting-edge audio and video production room. The middle studio offers pro-level recording and mixing at the highest possible resolution, and the third room features an iso booth for acoustic recordings, a green screen booth, and sleeping quarters for the on-board crew of three producers and engineers. The upper level "Peace Deck" provides space for interviews, live music, DJs, and bands.
The brand new truck was unveiled in Liverpool, John Lennon's hometown, on May 8th, 2013 by Yoko Ono Lennon. Wanting to keep John Lennon's legacy going, she showed herself very impressed with the tour start: "This is a project John Lennon would have loved". Ulrike and Michael Ketterer were equally proud to hand over the successful result of their team's work: "A fantastic project - with completely new challenges both in terms of construction and interior design". From now on, the new sound studio on wheels will be touring Europe with stops at local schools, colleges and festivals, providing workshops with access to state-of-the-art studios as a way of inspiring young people to create original projects reflective of their ideas, values, and creativity. In June 2013, it will continue its journey to this year's London Meltdown Festival. Information on where and when to see the Lennon Bus Europe live on site can be found on europe.lennonbus.org
