Those with an appreciation for Mel Brooks' refreshingly sardonic humour can look forward to the US musical hit »The Producers« – premiering on October 14 at the Musikalische Komödie. A corrupt duo produces the worst musical the world has ever seen. Max Bialystock and Leo Blum are determined to use Hitler performers and trashy direction to guarantee a flop so they can make off with the sponsorship money for their Broadway revue. The production of this entertainingly abysmal parody of show business and National Socialism is taken over by Dominik Wilgenbus, best known in Leipzig as a director for his witty productions of »Frau Luna«, »Heidi« and »Zar und Zimmermann«.
