ROCCAT will be causing a stir at the Role Play Convention and will be showcasing itself in a very prominent way. René Korte, Managing Director of Roccat says: "Through our involvement at the RPC we will be supporting the community of role-play gamers both at the same time and directly. This was a key factor for us in deciding to support the event. The event offers gamers the opportunity to meet each other and to exchange ideas and it is unique in Germany, if not in Europe. Our aim is to set new impulses and to offer visitors an attractive programme."
"In Roccat we have found the ideal partner for the Role Play Convention 2008. We are looking forward to an in depth cooperation", says André Kuschel from the Role Play Convention. "The RPC visitors will be able join a variety of community activities about professional role play gaming equipment."
With its first range of products ROCCAT will be offering fans of Massive Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Games (MMORPG) in particular interesting opportunities to refine their gaming skills by using equipment that has been specifically designed for gamers. For instance, World of Warcraft gamers like to use key combinations and command sequences to cast different spell sequences and perform strengthening rituals. Creating macros makes this task a lot easier.
With its 41 additional macro and media buttons, the ROCCAT Valo Gaming Keyboard is perfect for programming command sequences and key combinations onto one key. Using the macro Record, Pause and Kill buttons the process of creating macros can be easily carried out in the game. Five game profiles, each with four layers, can be stored directly in the ROCCAT keyboard’s 2MB of on-board memory. One profile can be used for a particular game in which up to four game characters can each have individual key assignments saved with the corresponding macros. In total it is possible to store 420,000 key commands and 420,000 corresponding, individually adjustable, timers on the ROCCAT Valo. Naturally, additional profiles can be stored on the PC itself.
The ROCCAT Kone Gaming Mouse also has an on-board memory which allows macros and key assignments to be stored directly on the mouse. 96kB of internal memory allows 5 Game Profiles with a total of 12,800 key commands plus 12,800 timing commands to be stored on the mouse itself. Using the Macro Manager even complex macros can be programmed, each of which can contain 512 subsequent or parallel key commands for each mouse button. Since these macros are available even without having to install the driver it doesn’t matter which computer the mouse is connected to; the macros can be called up at any time.
