"We are pleased to be able to work with this outstanding young international pro team," declared Mario Kummer, head of uvex cycling. "A team with a remarkable foundation, offers a promising concept and has great potential."
The Dutch Pro Continental Cycling Team Project 1t4i - now Argos-Shimano - includes 7 German riders, and is led by team captains Marcel Kittel and John Degenkolb, who last year amassed 23 victories between them.
Mario Kummer officially handed over the brand new uvex race 5 team helmet to the 25-man team. The team's first chance to wear it was on the start line of this year's Tour of Flanders. The uvex race 5 is a completely new development, with outstanding aerodynamic performance in wind tunnel tests. For even higher standards of safety, the impact-resistant outer shell has been additionally strengthened. For even better fit, the helmet is available in three shell sizes. The lightweight helmet is fitted with uvex's proprietary IAS-2K adjustment system, for optimal individual fit. The liner is made from very fast wicking material which helps control temperature, is anti-allergenic, removable and can be washed. Thanks to woven-in carbon fibres it has bacteriostatic properties, thus bacterial growth is suppressed.
uvex's top model, race 5 team will initially be available exclusively to Argos-Shimano riders. From Autumn 2012 it will be available to buy, from cycling stores, in two models:
race 5 - priced from €199.95
race 5 team - limited edition original team helmet in Argos-Shimano team colours - priced from €229.95
